Fingerprints is a Standard Dwarf Iris with medium violet standards and falls with a distinct maroon spot on the falls. A very reliable and fast growing little iris. Bred by William Maryott and introduced in 1981.
If you like irises, you will enjoy the early bloom and extended season that Standard Dwarf Irises will give you, year after year. These bloom two to four weeks before most of the Tall Bearded Iris and cover themselves with beautiful blossoms in a neat clump standing 8" to 16" tall, and are ideal in borders or rock gardens.
Irises are incredibly carefree and easy to grow and are one of the most drought tolerant plants you will ever grow! These bloom just after the crocus, tulips, daffodils and hyacinths and are a great source of colorful, early to late spring flowers. Complete, detailed planting instructions will be included with your order. Our irises have survived and thrived after years of up to -20 degree winters and 105+ degree summers so they have proven to be very hardy (zone 5). Years of experience shows that they readily adapt to a wide variety of climates and soil conditions.
Important! Please note shipping date: Irises are a living, growing crop that must reach a certain stage of maturity before they can be sucessfully transplanted and then must be individually dug and prepared for shipping. Our normal shipping in the Spring and Early Summer is within 28 days (or less if possible) after payment has been received.
Hearthstone Legacy Iris Gardens is a fully inspected and certified plant nursery and is able to LEGALLY ship to all 50 states. We even meet the full, rigorous requirements of shipping to the state of California. Each of our shipments carries a plant inspection label on the package for your protection. (It is ILLEGAL in all 50 states to either receive or ship live plants across state lines except from an inspected and certified plant nursery.)
Cost of shipping is a reasonable $4.95 shipped by fast Priority Mail (only 1 to 3 days to just about anywhere from our central location). Orders for more plants are a mere 25 cents shipping per each plant after the first plant. Purchases may be combined for up to 10 days. All plants are carefully packaged for safe delivery. We do not pack in newspaper or foam peanuts which can cause damaging mold in shipment. Insurance, if desired, is $1.70 for up to $50 coverage and $1.00 for each additional $50.
