Item Description
Here is a pristine-condition Classic orange C5. This is the early 70s model with the sand-cast forks (holes in them) and the small-size drive base. The fork ares have been professionally painted a light tan color making it look like it is one of the very earliest C5s, but it has the smooth paint finish rather than the old textured Velvetone paint, so I would put it's year of manufacture between 72 and 76. Included are:
Three original Celestron Kellner 1-1/4 inch eyepieces: 40mm, 25mm, and 12mm.
The visual back.
a 1-1/4 inch diagonal.
A "T" adapter.
The original power cord with the 2-pin Jones plug.
The original factory storage trunk.
The KEY to the storage trunk!!
Optics are smooth and fine, stars show equal-sized blur circles on either side of focus, and the Airy disc is visible at high power most nights when seeing permits.
Focusing is smooth and the slow-motion controls on both axes are smooth and fine. The finder is the standard 5x24mm. The drive motors run properly and the scope tracks like it should. No tripod included. Shipping is $35.00 in CONUS. No reserve and good luck.
