=> Inside sensor is to be installed at the choosen locations such as above the crown or in the return air duct as many secondary sensors are.
indoor Sensor is 2% temperature tolerance,
outdoor is 1% temperature tolerance & is $1 more.
=> Outside sensor you can put anywhere you feel like, to measure the temperature anywhere around the house, basement, attic. outdoor sensor can be used indoors, as normal indoor temperature is ~+15 to +30 ºC.
when outdoor can be from ~ -40 to +50 ºC.
ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
This indoor or outdoor sensor is optional for the Invensys, Robershaw & other thermostats. Using it will allow you to control temperatures based upon the temperatures in other locations away from the thermostat itself.

works w/ invensys and robertshaw thermostats 9700i, 9800i & other series like Honeywell, White Rodgers, Carrier and other that are Remote Sensor Capable will work with thermostats that require sensor w/ NTC 10K element, but please make sure it works w/ your thermostat!
