We carry only the highest quality embossed aluminum signs and license plates produced. The identical equivalent to what we sell would be U.S. State issued license plates - very durable, embossed and lightweight.
Tin vs. Embossed Aluminum:
EMBOSSED is a higher quality process and therefore costs more to produce! The embossing process pushes through the aluminum which creates the design, lettering, etc. creating a 3-dimensional effect. The enamel is then baked on. From there, each is individually shrink-wrapped. It is a 3 step process.
Tin signs are created much like a poster from a photograph, whereby the picture is sprayed on with paint. They are NOT embossed and they are made out of tin, not aluminum. The entire process is much more simplistic and less expensive.
How do other Companies Plates and Signs compare to Ours?
Embossed Aluminum vs. Tin Signs - While tin signs look very nice, they are just not the same quality that an embossed sign is. Tins are screen printed and produced from photographs and the paint is then baked on the tin. There is very little protection from scratching.
Embossed signs are aluminum signs that have been stamped with a die that imprints the design right into the metal, thereby raising the design out from the metal. (Same Exceptional Quality as your state issued mandatory license plates.) From there all paint/enamel is baked on. The quality difference between tins and embossed aluminum is very significant.

Important Note about Signs and License Plates: Just as "pricing is subject to change without notice", so too are "designs subject to change without notice".
In most cases, what our picture displays is in fact, the way the item will arrive. HOWEVER, there are times when designs can change. More common instances where this occurs is with Sports and Automotive.
Manufacturers pay for the licensing rights to manufacture goods for companies, but ultimately, it is the companies themselves that have the final say when and if a design gets changed. Unfortunately, this information does not trickle down until the new designs are manufactured and shipped to us.
While this puts us at their mercy, it ultimately comes down to better sales numbers for them. Thus in the end, its almost always a very good thing when these changes occur! And the change will almost always be very slight, (ie... maybe Ford Motor Company will decide to move their logo to a different location on the item, or add the word RACING, while removing the racing flags that used to be there, etc.. )
