Our caster wheel has a 1 3/8th" outer diameter with a 4-inch length. It has a double safety margin built into the load rating. Our wheel is Heavy Duty, load tested to handle 500 lbs with a 8-to-1 safety margin. Osha requires 4 to 1. This means the wheel will take a load in excess of 4,000 lbs before collapsing. So our rating of 500 lbs yields the above safety margin. (See our scaffolding load test results here.) We are one of the few if not the only company to actually publish our third party test results of our products. Stork Labs is a world wide testing lab.
The scaffold caster wheel is an 8" cast-iron wheel with a rubber overlay that is 2 inches wide and over an inch of rubber covering the iron caster wheel. There are ball bearings in the pivot mechanism to handle high loading. Double zerk grease fittings. Double locking to maintain rock solidness. Locks to prevent wheel pivot and locks to prevent the scaffold caster wheel from rolling. Upper steel body is galvanized. The center of the hole location on stem is 2.5 inches from the base which should fit most brands of scaffold.
