1899 Large Color Map
of Northeast Africa:
Egypt, Abyssinia, Eritrea
&
part of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan
(This map is 100+ years
old -- NOT a Reproduction - Scan of
Atlas Copyright Page below)
 |
This is a LARGE map, printed
on a single sheet with a fold in the center. Sheet size is about 14.5" x
22.5" and the map has ample margins for easy matting or
framing. Too big for my scanner so scanned in two passes.
Resulting scans were then joined. There is NO break in the center of the
map, there is a fold.
A Certificate of Authenticity
will be included, along with a peel-off of the
copyright information as it appears in the atlas from which this map was
removed.
Purchasers who frame their maps frequently affix that copyright statement to
the back of the frame. |

This color
map of
Northeast Africa
- showing Egypt, Abyssinia, Eritrea &
Part of Anglo-Egyptian Sudan at the turn of the last century
was taken from an 1899 Cram's atlas published in Chicago by George Cram.
Principal trading routes and a few railroads are shown. There is an
inset map of the Suez Canal (which had already been operating for over 30
years). This is a detailed and attractive map.
The close-up below shows the area surrounding
Cairo and is included to give an
example of the detail and quality of this map.
|
The map is printed on medium weight paper, and is in very good condition.
This is very nice
old map which would look great in a contemporary or period frame.
