Hiya, folks.
Up for bid is a photocopy of the only known Star Trek TOS story treatment ever submitted by William Shatner to Gene Roddenberry for consideration as an episode.
Dated April 29, 1966 (very early in the series' production, before even the script to "Corbomite Maneuver" was written) and titled “Web Of Death,” the four page story treatment finds the Enterprise crew searching for a lost starship, with horrific results.
From TV Guide dated October 15, 1966:
Another time Shatner, an aspiring writer, came into Roddenberry's office with a story he had written. Recalls Roddenberry: "He wouldn't let me take it home to read. He insisted on reading it right there. So I fortified myself with a Scotch and prepared to suffer. But the story flowed and was so damned poetic I caught myself wishing I could write that well...."
This is that story.
Again, it is a four-page story treatment. The typescript is very clear. It's a nice, little-known item for the collector or the fan on your gift list.
The series, of course, stars:
William Shatner as Captain James T. Kirk
Leonard Nimoy as Mister Spock
DeForest Kelly as Dr. McCoy
Nichelle Nichols as Uhura
George Takei as Mr. Sulu
James Doohan as Scotty
Walter Koenig as Mr. Chekov
