ARAK rugs are hand-woven rugs made in Arak (formerly known as Sultanabad), the capital city of the province of Markad, which sits in central of IRAN. They are excellent quality rugs with fine, soft and good textured wool piles. The weavers use the Assymetrical or Persian knot with an average KPSI of 120. There are many different grades of rugs made in this region, ranging from medium to fine. Rugs from ARAK are beautiful and there is very high demand for older ones. Expext to pay $45.00 to $50.00 per sq. ft. retail
price for these beautiful rugs.
