Genuine Hercus thread chaser dial for imperial leads. Removed from my early model 9A, should fit all 9's and maybe the 260 also (but I cannot confirm that). May also fit the South Bend 9" lathes which were clones of the Hercus.(insert ironic grin here)
The piece looks in good condition except for the scar that can be seen on the dial in one of the photos...does not affect operation, which is smooth. The drive gear is undamaged and turns smoothly. retains about 20% of its original Hercus dark grey (1st generation) paint.
I am also listing the genuine four way tool post from this lathe...go crazy and modernise your lathe!
This donor 9A machine by the way is under long term refurbishment more as a test bed than an original museum grade project.
Pick-up available in North-Eastern Melbourne, or of course bank deposit or PayPal if you must.
Postage for this item is based on 1 kg from 3106...parcel post $7.20 Melbourne area, Or Express (Australia-wide) $12.00 flat rate.
Thanks for looking, and good luck.

This part is a genuine Hercus early thread dial. It is mounted into a horizontal bore in the apron and secured with a square head bolt
in the apron which I will include. The other bolt is shown on the part. This part has the exact colour of the rest of the machine,
and the geared drive wheel is in good shape (as is the leadscrew)* I offer a money back guarantee on this item as to originality and operation.
I shall be weighing up my plans for the rest of the parts in the next week or so...let me know if there is anything specific on your wish lists and I'll see about making a listing.
*I bought this machine sight unseen at an industrial auction. It appears that it was used solely in a second operation role as all the wear (and there's lots of it...
almost 0.1" in the ways) is very near the headstock. The rest of the machie is pretty good, but the way wear makes it uneconomical to repair for fine work.
I have no accesories or rare parts at all..no steadies, chucks, faceplates, taper or milling attachments. no collets. no stand.
Thanks for looking, good luck
