foreground of the image. On the left of the image is the West Virginia
bank of the river that includes the northern section of the city of Wheeling,
West Virginia. Wheeling
Island, the largest inland
populated island in the United States, spans the center of the
image. The scene also shows bridges
that span the river at Wheeling, WV and Bridgeport, OH as it winds south with
the hills of Ohio and West Virginia making up the background of the scene.
