Drift this bait on a tippet weighted line to get bait down to drift just at or above the bottom using ribbon lead, split shot or my favorite method, as trailer behind a larger streamer like a wooly bugger or sculpin pattern in a 2 fly rig. My favorite method of fishing this bait is as an attractor pattern with a midge or a scud dropper tied to the bend of the EB EZ egg pattern. The bright colors of the EZ Egg will attract the fish to the smaller imitator pattern and increase your catch. On my last outing I caught 2 fish on the EZ Egg pattern for every one that I caught on the dropper, but out fished my fishing partner 3 to 1. Good luck fishing EB's EZ Egg pattern.
I have used this bait for a couple of years now and caught many rainbow trout, brown trout, brook trout and cutthroat trout on this bait from the Ozark Streams that I fish. On my first outing using this bait I hit the Grand Slam of trout catching rainbow, brown, brook and cutthroat on the Norfork river in Arkansas. The Norfork river is a special trout tailwater.
I remember that first day every time I tie on this bait.
After you tie a few of these baits and use this bait in your home waters, you will have the knowledge of how the pattern works and should vary the colors to meet the needs of your home waters for color and size.
