Item Description

This lunch

Blue Decorated Delft Inkwell

This is a nicely decorated and very interestingly designed Delft inkwell dating to the 19th century and possibly earlier.  It exhibits two different colors of blue under the glaze and has no damage other than some glaze wear on the base.  It is missing its three glass inserts that would have fit into the three holes on the top.  The top portion is decorated with flower pots holding three flowers each, and along the base are flower pots each holding seven flowers each.  It is most likely European in origin but I am unable to identify the country or the particular style.  Its elongated diamond shape is 6 1/8” long by 3 1/8” wide by 3” tall.  Thank you for your interest.

Questions and Email Communications

We encourage you to ask any and all questions regarding an auction item prior to placing your first bid on it.  We are more than happy to provide additional photos as needed or elaborate on any descriptions that might help you in your decision process.

Shipping and Insurance

We normally ship by Priority Mail and you can see the shipping charge to your location if you click the Shipping Calculator button at the beginning of the listing and enter your zip code.

Insurance is extra if desired, and must be included with your payment according to the following Postal Service insurance fee schedule: $50 max ($1.70), $100 max ($2.15), $200 max ($2.60), $300 max ($4.60), then an additional $0.95 per $100 up to $5,000 coverage.

Auction purchases may be combined to save on shipping costs, just ask us to quote you the combined shipping cost amount if you were successful on several of our auction items.

Payments

We accept payment by paypal, personal check or  money order and our mailing address will be provided within the invoice sent to you following the auction close.  Payment by money orders will always result in immediate shipment.  Payment by check may be subject to a shipping delay until the check clears.

Guarantee of Originality and Condition as Described

We guarantee that all of our items are “as described” in the listing regarding the item’s age, general overall condition, and also as shown by the accompanying photos within the listing. Should an item not be “significantly” as described, it may be returned to us for a full refund of the purchase price and the shipping you had paid to receive it.

Please note that all of our items are antique, and as such will display appropriate evidence of age and use to varying degrees. We are not able to make note of every single possible rub, scrape, scratch, nick, discoloration area, etc. These more minor evidences of age are expected, and are not considered significant defects, and are even desirable to find on an antique piece as proof of its correct age. We will do our best to make note of anything significant within the description, or that might be difficult to see in the photos, so please read our entire description and look closely at all images provided to get a full understanding of that item’s condition and appearance.

Note: Returns cannot be accepted for a change of heart, which is also known as “buyer’s remorse”. Please be sure beforehand that you want the item and are willing to pay your bid price if you are the successful bidder. It is against ebay rules not to complete an ebay transaction and is also unfair to other bidders that had wanted the item and placed bids on it.

Colors Depicted in Photos

There are always color variations due to lighting, the item’s particular surface reflectivity, different display monitors, and user controlled display monitor settings. Therefore we cannot guarantee that the exact color or hue which you see on your own particular monitor will exactly match the color of the item in hand.

Thank You
