Size: 3 1/2" by 5". Written in Latin. Nice Condition. Frameable/Displayable...This Leaf is from a "Hymnody", a collection of Sacred Music to be sung in church having its origins in the early Middles Ages. Their usage faded with the Renaissance, which held greater enthusiasm for ancient classical forms and metres. The genre then received the death blow on the revision of the Breviary under Pope Urban VIII, as these medieval rhythmical hymns were forced into more classical forms. Low beginning bid!
