Antique Hotta Yu Shoten Japan Divided Tray lighthouse

Time Left: 0 Seconds |  | | For More Details: Click here | | This beautiful 8" in diameter divided relish tray is marked with the black mark seen in PIC 3. The red mark is the same mark in red from a reference material so you can see it more clearly. This mark is thought to be from the Hotta Yu Shoten & Co. The use of the word "Shoten" indicates the name for a shop which is selling products from its own kiln. The mark is likely to be from the 1920-30's. It is in excellant condition for it's age. It has period crazing and one small flake off the divider you can see in PIC 2 that has darkened. The rim has an embossed leaf and floral design and is hand painted with lighthouses and cottage scenes. It most likely had a bamboo handle at one time where the ribbons are. It's a great piece. | |
