The Inn on Poplar Hill is a casually elegant, Queen Anne Victorian built in the 1890's, by the Great Granddaughter of Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Randolph and the local Judge. The Inn on Poplar Hill overlooks the historic town of Orange Virginia. Surrounded by 28 acres of park like grounds, with an abundance of wildflowers, walking trails and country charm. Our large wrap around front porch provides a comfortable spot for guests to relax in the shade after a leisurely stroll into town to visit an antique or gift shop, enjoy dinner or visit an art gallery. For a more secluded escape, many guests prefer to go for a walk with our resident mascot, Bear, a friendly flat coat retriever will show you the way to our stocked fishing pond. We will be happy to pack you a special picnic lunch or dinner to take along.
Inside, we offer six bedrooms, each with it's own private bath. Our rooms are uniquely decorated with custom window treatments, period antiques, cozy handcrafted Quilts and many other details. Guests are treated to an early morning tray of coffee or tea delivered to their door. Then join their fellow visitors in the dinning room for a breakfast feast, complete with Victoria’s scrumptious baked goodies, fresh fruit and a choice of breakfast specialties.
