Item Description
Must go or be broken up!!! Offered for £0.01 start or contact me for a Buy Now!!! Listed is a heavy plaster reproduction fresco of Leonardo da Vinci's "The Last Supper". It was bought at a Church Fete about 12 years ago & is reputed to have been rescued from the the proverbial skip by a lady, repaired then repainted. It was too heavy to hang on her wall so she put it on the bric-a-brac stall from where my wife bought it. I was called in to carry it as it weighs in at approx. 6kg. I don't know anything else about it & certainly don't know its age or monetary worth. All I know is that it has been lying in the attic ever since & I want to make sure it goes somewhere to be displayed. It is a very good likeness of the original fresco & is done in relief. I think the material is a kind of plaster. The two hanging rings at the back have been set into the plaster itself. It has been repaired as, I'm told, the corner was broken off by the lady when she dropped it after rescue. The repair can be seen in the  photo of the reverse. Size is 65cm (25.5in) x 35cm (13.75in) & about 2.5cm (1in) thick. There are a couple of very small chips to the figures as can be seen in the photo. What more can I say? Oh! Due to it's size & weight I can only offer it for local collection or buyer's own courier. Is there anyone out there who is interested in this piece before it is broken up & dug into the garden? Already listed twice & this time its going! going! Gone!!!
