This auction is for a Worlds of Wonder Talking Teddy Ruxpin Bear 1st Generation 1985 with 5 Tapes plus extra Parts! The teddy bear shown in the center left is complete with no missing parts, but I can only move his mouth and eyes manually, they do not move to the music or talking on the tape. I put 4 "C" batteries in the back and was able to play all 5 cassette tapes. The sound and music is still quite clear with only a small amount of background noise, probably from the cassettes being 23 years old. The cassette player looks mint with no wear or dust, and the battery compartment is very clean with no corrosion on the contacts. The clothing is very clean and has just a slight odor from being stored away many years. I obtained these with the intention of my son using the parts for a robotics project for 4H or Robofest, but that never happened. As you can see in the right side of the picture I am including a set of parts from a 2nd Teddy Ruxpin, perhaps you can use both of the "guts" to make one completely functional Teddy Ruxpin doll. Keep in mind these parts are from another doll and NOT from the doll on the left, that doll has not been tampered with, as far as I can determine, and still plays the cassettes very well. These are sold as is and described to the best of my knowledge.
The cassette titles are Teddy Ruxpin Lullabies, All About Bears, Teddy's Winter Adventure, The Day Teddy Met Grubby, and Teddy and the Mudblups.
As an additional bonus, there are even some electronic schematics for the unit that were obtained in the 1990's. They describe the techincal details on the operation of the Servo controller and microprocessor. There is a paper from TI for the SN76604N Servo-Amp, 9 pages, a two page technical description of the 8748 EPROM program for the microcontroller, the program in INTEL HEX format, and a description of the cassette - left track for the voice recording of the story, and the right track for the digital signals to control the doll's servos. It even describes how to make your own custom story and record it with the motions on a cassette for Teddy to play back and mimic your motions later, but I don't really understand those details - too technical! I'm not sure how useful this info is to the new owner, but I'd hate to throw it out.
