The inside bottom of the teacup has a heart shape to it, as does the inside base of the saucer.
The pictures make it look like the gold painted rim on the teacup and saucer is broken up and discontinuous. This is not the case: the gold paint is solid all the way round both teacup and saucer. While it is obviously hand-painted, there are only very minor imperfections in the painted gold line.
There are no chips, breaks or cracks in either the teacup or saucer.
This set might make an interesting addition to a collection of teacups, although there are no markings to indicate rarity or extraordinary value. There is also no indication as to the age of this teacup and saucer.
There is a "Made in China" sticker on the bottom of the saucer, with no other markings indicating maker or type of china.
On the inside of the saucer are visible two very tiny dark dots, about the size of a "period" or "comma" seen in this description. There is a similar sized, even more faint, mark in the inside bottom of the cup.
The handle of the teacup is very finely shaped with an opening that is easily grasped by me with my large fingers.
