1977 ZEISS MACRO COLOR CALENDER- LARGE MICROPHOTOGRAPHY PICTURES
PHOTOGRAPHS TAKEN THRU A MICROSCOPE USING UNIQUE OPTICS AND LASERS OF SLIDES WITH VARIOUS PARTICLES AND CRYSTALS CARL ZEISS
Various matter was placed on microscope slides and photograped using special optics and laser techniques for showing the matter in depth and detail. What is being photographed and how to bring out vibrant colors for details of the slide specimen was done by Carl Zeiss.
The 12 month calender measures 19 inches in height and 12 1/2" in width. The front cover page is a micrographic by Zeiss. The back cover is stiff cardboard with a cloth loop for hanging.
Each month has a microphoto of 15" in height and 12 1/2" in width suitable for framing.
The back of each Macro Color calender month describes and explains, in six different languages, what you are seeing and the micrographic technique used to make the slide picture.
The large size of the photos made it difficult to capture in detail the couple of photos shown.
Both the colors and details are astounding. The calender and all the 12 pictures are in excellent condition with no tears, creases, or marks.
This calander was aquired from an estate owner who was a professional lens and optics expert for both the Gillette Razor Company and the aquired Braun Optics division of North America. He was an executive lead scientist for 40 years from 1944 to 1984 and used Zeiss optical microscopic lens in his metallurgy microscopes and also did microphotography. The calander has been stored and protected over the years.
Fine specimens from Zeiss' colored mirophotography. The colors are vibrant and complex and hard to show in my pictures what the eye sees.
