I know very little about this item so am just putting down what I can see and what I was told by the person I got it from so any questions or additional photos please ask.It is an old wooden box with what seems like a bakelite dial that measures from 1 to 7.I do not know how it works or even if it does. There are 2 holes which seem to have been drilled on the top and a more original small hole on the back. Both the base and the dial can be unscrewed and removed. The gentleman i got it from said it was a PP meter for measuring broadcasting figures for tv and radio. It is 12.5cm high x 11.5cm wide x 13cm deep at the base. The dial is on a sloped section and measures just over 8cm diameter to the outside.
I have now opened the base and found an electrical meter attached to the back of the dial which seems to date from the 1930's and was made in high Wycombe. There is also a strange metal bar with some ridges on it.
