"Notes on Lying"; the text of the manuscript contemplates the act of lying, and whether the act can be justified 'according to reason' or through use of the scriptures. The second, Thomas Penn (1702-1775), one full page, signed Tho. Penn, dated Philadelphia, 5 February 1735/36, with embossed paper seal, docket on verso, to Benjamin Eastburn, Surveyor General. "By the Proprietaries: Pennsilvania and Counties on Delaware"; the manuscript allows for the survey of some two hundred acres of land in the Mill Creek hundred by Pennsylvania settler Archibald McCollister of the county of New Castle. The first with small hole from ink erosion; crease marks with one small tear. The second with crease marks; losses and tears at creases; some losses to edges; cellutape repairs to verso; discoloration.
