My husband installed this Ritetemp model 8030C 7-day programmable thermostat in my 78 year old mother's home.  Last winter, she had been forgetting to turn the heat down at night and had had a few very bad gas bills.  We thought this would be easier for her.  We programmed in her daily turn up and down times and temperatures.  She would need to do nothing.  Well, old habits die hard, and she was used to tinkering with her thermostat every day.  Needless to say, she was often interupting the program or resetting something.  Within 2 weeks, she had called her furnance company and had them come out and pull this thermostat and reinstall an regular old fashioned turn dial.  I'm sure she is probably still forgetting to turn down the heat at night, but at least she's happy.  I would have installed this one in my own house, but I already have a digital programmable thermostat. 

So, this is your day for a bargain.  As I said this thermostat only ran for about 2 weeks and it ran just fine.  I think it is actually easier to program than the one I have installed in my house.  I still have all the directions and installation guides.  I can't remember how much I paid for this item, but you are sure to get it for way less.
