This is an oversized program measuring 9” x 12”, unpaginated, but 36 pages incl. covers, printed on glossy paper. The text is in both English and Spanish as follows:
· “Opera in the Spanish-Speaking World” in English. With photos of Il Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Gran Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona, and El Palacio de Belles Artes in Mexico; this history mentions Placido Domingo’s connection with the zarzuela art form.
· “Opera en Los Paises de Habla Hispana” with a 1916 Met photo of “Goyescas”, one of Lucrezia Bori at the Met, and a sketch for Don Giovanni by Peter Berman
· “Operatic Architecture – An International Language” in English, with four photos of sets for La Forza Del Destino.
Also included is the Met Opera Club roster and contributor list. There is a one leaf/4 page folded color insert (see photo inset) with the menu in Spanish. There are a few ads. The back cover is an ad showing Boehm’s tribute to Beverly Sills as “Manon” in Porcelain (see photo inset). The front cover has a scuff at the top right and is bumped throughout at that corner. Otherwise, good condition. We combine shipping on media rate items.
