You are bidding on a beautiful children's roll-top desk in sturdy, working condition. This desk is from Walla Walla, Washington. It was owned by a 78 year old woman who had it as a child. This would put the date of the desk in the late 1930s. I do not know if it was new when purchased back then or if it is even older than that. I don't know types of woods very well, but judging from the color, I would guess it is oak, but cannot guarantee that.
The desk's dimensions are 31-1/4 inches tall, 18 inches wide, and 13 inches deep. (13" x 18" x 31.25")
The roll-top on the desk is in good condition and slides easily. The nob is missing but, but it is not needed to open. There are cubbies inside the desk. I have tried to include lots of pictures, so you know exactly what you are getting. There is a small piece of wood split off of the right side of the inside cubbie, as pictured. You can also see in another picture that part of the backing is off and it is cracked in two other places. None of this, however, is visible from the front. Under the roll top are two parts that look like they had something pasted on it at one point. It was hard to get the camera inside to take a picture of the back of the roll-top, so there is no picture of it. You obviously can't see this part, unless you look closely with your head inside the desk. The inside surface of the desk is in great condition and has no writing on it.
I have included larger pictures so you can see the desk in detail. Please be patient as the pictures load. Just hit the "Refresh" button on your browser if they don't all show the first time.
