You are looking at THREE, UNBELIEVABLY BEAUTIFUL NOTES from SURINAME (the picture depicts just the front of each note, email me if you wish to see the back of these notes – I hope the scans do them justice) I will admit up front – I am totally biased about these notes, as along with polymer notes they rate as some of my favorite notes. Every time, I show this notes, they attract a great deal of attention. IF you do not own these notes in your collection – I really can recommend them, they are beautiful in so many way. Notes are available individually in my store.
· Note 1 – 5 Gulden. (Pick # 146) This note, like the others features a bird (Not sure, could be a woodpecker) The front also features a map, butterflies and a bat. The back has some beautiful coloring, with blues, oranges, green and pink. It features flowers and a building. The note is a medium size note measuring 5½” by 3” Watermark: Buildings. Serial # also increases in size. Dated 2000
· Note 2 – 10 Gulden. (Pick # 147)The front features a picture of a bird (Humming bird I believe) sitting on a branch and it has pictures of butterflies, insects and a map. Not only is the note interesting with its’ coloring, I think the way the serial # is written is definitely unusual. It starts small and each letter and number is slightly bigger than the one before. The back again has a vivid color configuration and features a state building, flowers and other designs. The note is dated 1st January 2000. Watermark: Buildings – The note is a medium size note measuring 5½” by 3”
· Note 3 – 25 Gulden. (Pick # 148) This note again features a bird (Toucan) and has insects and a map. It is a beautiful blue color. The back features the same state building as the 5 Gulden and flowers and insects. Again the colors are vivid, with some great background designs. Watermark: Buildings. Date is 1st January 2000. The note is a medium size note measuring 5½” by 3” Serial # also increases in size.
Issued by Centrale bank van Suriname
Again, these notes are interesting and colorful (I wish I had found out more about them on my research, but again this is part of the fun of collecting and would make a great family project - and you can show how smart you are by knowing that Suriname is in South America - when I do talks about banknotes - very few people can tell me where Suriname is). They are uncirculated, and the notes have an unusual feel about them, as the paper is thicker than some other notes, and you can feel the embossing. They are new and crisp. (Note: I do my best to give as much information as possible about each note. However, this information can not be guaranteed as accurate, although I do my best to research and confirm information)
