As Organic Gardeners for over 20years we have tried to recycle any waste we produce and for the last couple of years we have made homemade Diesel Alternative Fuel from chip pan oil
when we first heard about it we were as sceptical as anyone that it could work and we were very surprised and delighted when we did start to make and use it in our vehicles
Please note you just cannot put used chip pan oil straight from your cooker into your tank there is a certain process you must do but it is a very simple one and anybody could manage it by following our instructions
we have done a lot of experiments with the process and the way we are making it now seems to be the best way for our use
because of the limited supply of used oil [there is only a certain amount of chips one can eat] we are now buying vegetable oil at wholesale prices and with paying the duty on it we are still coming out winning
We would not encourage anybody to break the law and because of that fact we will send you the information you need to register with the customs dept. to enable you to pay the duty, even allowing for doing that you will still be saving a lot of money and also helping the enviroment a lot
[Recently the customs have changed the rules and you are now allowed 2500ltrs of veg oil per annum without paying the duty] also the ever increasing price of garage bought Diesel it makes a much better deal for anyone to get involved now
It is a simple process to make the diesel and we will give you step by step instructions
Also please note that there is no special equipment needed other than items you have in your home already i.e. funnels and a couple of used oil containers its so simple to make with the correct formula, also there is no harmful chemicals or additives that you have to use other than what you might already have in your garden shed
It seems to work ok on Turbo and non Turbo engines we use it on a Ford cargo truck, a land rover, a massey ferguson tractor and a stationary diesel generator
