This auction is for a vintage antique, Peru, andean, copper silvered or plated, tupu pin, peacock with a little babies birds in its nest, in the middle has a green bead. The peacock in the inca culture means prosperity and abundance.
That kind of Tupu was used since INCAS time by the
women dressed kind of a tunic, of a single piece; on the shoulders and
by way of layer the lliclla went (big mantel as blanket), subject to
the neck for a tupu. And it was used by the feminine funeral bales
holding the Illiclla and was
made in the andean highlands of Peru . Some old andean peruvian women
who lives in the highlands use the tupus in their typical costumes
during their folkloric religious parties, each year, this kind of tupus
are hard to find because up to date, the artisans don't make
them because the new generations don't use them only inherit from their
relatives.
