A View of U.S. Attitudes 1940-1946

This Set of Historical Films explores the attitudes of the U.S. from peacetime to Pearl Harbor to dropping the Atom Bomb on Japan, twice. Some of this collection is produced by the War Department.  Some was designed as Educational Material.  Two films attempt to explain the rationale behind the interment of the U. S. Japanese population with extensive footage from the Relocation Department.

1 Children of Japan       2 Strike Up the Band       3 News Parade 1942       4 AVENGE DECEMBER 7th!

5 Japanese Relocation       6 Our Enemy, the Japanese       7 A Challenge to Democracy

VOLUME FOUR
A Just & Measured Response?

1 The World at War 1942       2 My Japan       3 Tale of Two Cities

These films should be viewed in historical context.  Questions regarding the morality and or Constitutionality of America to inter its own citizens or to use Atomic Force in response to conventional warfare are seen differently in these films, all produced from 1940 to 1946, than might be commonly felt 60 years later.  As an historical and educational resource, this four-volume DVD Box-Set Collection is a treasure trove of teaching material.
