Standard PCMCIA CompactFlash Type 2 adapter (also known as
CF adapter, Card Reader, Reader / Writer).
Allows to connect both Type 1 and Type 2 CF devices such as Memory Cards and
Microdrives. Comes with a plastic protective case, and designed to
nicely slide into your laptop or PDA.
This adapter allows you to read CompactFlash cards and Microdrives
directly through your laptop PCMCIA slot. It is the fastst way to access the card.
The card will appear just as a regular drive so all pictures can be drag-dropped between
the card and your storage. This adapter supports all memory card sizes:

This adapter can work with all CompactFlash Type 1 and Type 2 size cards.
This does not just mean memory cards. Any other cards with CF interface
will work provided you have the drivers. Most common such cards would
be CF WiFi or GPRS cards.
If you only need to read Type 1 cards, and dont need the support for Microdrive
or thicker cards, then you can get a cheaper Type 1 card.
This adapter by itself does not require any drivers. It is a passive device.
Only the CompactFlash device you connect will need drivers. Memory cards
already have drivers built-into all versions of OS.
