Set of five lovely old vintage hand embroidered doilies with hand crocheted borders.

The set of five white doilies, consist of 2 large rectangles measuring approx. 26 1/2 inches (68cms) long and 17 1/2 inches (44cms) wide, a smaller rectangle approx 19 1/2 inches (49cms) long and 12 1/2 inches (32cms) wide. The 2 small round doilies each measure approx 6 1/2 inches (16.5 cms) across. All the edges have been crocheted with an untidy tight close stitch in cotton. They are embroidered with straight stitched outlined blue birds and sprays of daisy flowers in yellow with green stems. The predominant colour is blue with lots of large flamboyant blue birds in flight.

These doilies have been well used, the cotton is very thin, they have stains and one of the large doilies has a hole. There is some staining and age marking. They are definitely shabby chic, a strategically placed treasure will cover any sins or they could be used for guilt free crafting.

Certainly they are a nice set of large doilies and very pretty, perfect for adding old world charm to your decor without breaking the bank.
