This auction is for an antique flue cover. It measures almost 8" wide. It has gold matting around what I think is a litho. Unusual cover with cute little boy dressed in blue with lace and holding darker blue flowers. His hair is fixed as what was worn in the early 1800s. Nice bright color. I didn't see any markings on front or back to determine origin. There is a small chip in the glass and cardboard on back where one of the original holes were for the chain. The chain has been moved on the metal ring. Definiately the original glass has it has flat bubbles (I haven't seen ones like this before) in the glass. I think you can see one to the left of the boy's head. There is also pencil writing on the back that I cannot make out, but I think it talks about who owned it and I can see "Ala" for Alabama. Please ask questions if you are unsure of anything before bidding. Its better to ask, no matter what the question is, than to assume. Comments are always welcome and it helps us all learn more about antique items. We will have a total of six flue covers for auction that are four different sizes, one measuring 14"! We will also combine shipping to save you money. I don't believe in jacking up the price of shipping for profit.
