IMPORTANT
INFO ABOUT THIS AUCTION
This item is in an "eBay Live Auction". This means that
each item: 1) will not close at a specific time like an
ebay.com auction, 2) will be opened in order in a format
like a real auction house floor, 3) bids can be placed
real-time during the auction. Please note, bidders may place bids
before the auction (aka absentee bids). Absentee bids may be placed
up to 1 hour prior to the start of the auction. This is the recommended
method of bidding since many people on "auction day"
either forget to participate in the auction or have other plans.
Once the auction has started only live bids are accepted.
Note: The "Auction date and time" displayed by ebay
is the START date and time of the auction. This has nothing to
do with individual items. We run approx. 150 items per hour so
you can estimate from that when your item may be displayed. Also,
for Mac users, there are known issues with the Live Auction bidding
console and the Safari browser. Please use a different browser
if you wish to participate in the Live Auction.
You
must register for each individual auction before you can bid whether
you have participated before or not. To ensure that your registration
has been completed, you should register at least an hour before
the auction starts. If you register during the auction, it
may take up to an hour before you are confirmed.
For
Payment information, please see the "Payment"
section below.
*** ALL ITEMS IN THIS AUCTION HAVE RESERVES *** The auctioneer
will act to protect the reserve by placing an "Auction Floor
Bid". These bids will be displayed during the auction and
in eBay's Bid History after the auction as an "Auction Floor
Bid".
Item
Description
This antique Anglo-Indian coat rack, circa 1880, was recently imported from India, restored and professionally photographed. Made of lovely golden teak wood, it has a unique central pillar with scrolled prongs on either side, and its original brass and ceramic hooks. The curved umbrella rails are supported by elegant, turned baluster columns on a large, tapering platform. Measures 32" wide by 85" high by 20" deep. Extremely well-built and professionally restored and refinished. It recently sustained a clean crack to the umbrella rail, probably due to changes in temperature during recent shipment. We've since repaired the break and its now barely noticeable.
