This auction offers you the opportunity to purchase a usable item and a part of history all in the same auction . . . This is a Vintage Naibert Electric Gold Annealer . . . Because the label on the box was printed before the time of ZIP codes, I believe this to be a vintage peice . . . It was distributed by W.F. Naibert, D.D.S, 117 Third Ave. S.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa . . . This great piece appears to be new in the box . . . It comes complete with the original cord, lid, instruction sheet and box . . . I'm not sure that you'll be able to read the instruction sheet, so I'll write it here too . . .
Electric current: connect to 110-120 volt light current.
Manner of operation:
1. Place gold pellets on the heating plate, before turning on the current, taking care that the pellets do not touch each other.
2. Always leave cover off while heating.
3. Turn on th current. Special wiring not necessary.
4. Six minutes after the current has been turned on, the gold is sufficiently annealed so you can start in your angles or retentions.
5. Leave the current turned on for a total of twelve minutes. Always start using the gold on one side of the annealer. After you have three fourths of the gold, you can place additional gold on the plate and turn the current on again. While you are using the balance of the annealed gold, the new gold is annealing, but do not use the new gold unless it has been annealed for at least six minutes. The temperature of the annealer will never rise high enough to harm the annealing property of the gold, even though the current remains on all the time. The temperature of the gold annealer is so high that it is difficult to put gold on it if the current is not turned off for a short time.
6. When not using the annealer, put on the cover to keep dust particles off the heater plate.
7. If the gold is not used, leave it on the plate and put on the dust proof cover. Re-annealing this gold at the next operation does not destroy the cohesive or working properties of the gold.
8. There is a hand rest, which enables you to pick up the gold.
9. Care should be taken to place the annealer on a heat resisting surface whenever in use.
Thanks for your interest in this auction and good luck bidding . . . Questions are welcomed anytime during the auction . . .
