BISSELL CARPET CLEANER

This auction is for a vintage Bissell Carpet Cleaner.  It is made of wood and says GRAND RAPIDS on the front panel.  Because the rubber tires are worn a bit, when they turn, they don't press up against the cleaning bar and therefore the carpet sweeper doesn't turn.  There are some bristles worn off the cleaning bar. 

However, it is surely a great conversation antique piece to display or can be used for a photographer's prop - how many people have ever seen a "wooden" carpet sweeper.  I did some research and believe that this is one of the 1st sweepers produced by the Bissell Company in the late 1880's circa.
